Weingut Lackner-Tinnacher is located in the midst of vineyards on a ridge of hills in Steinbach near Gamlitz. Viticulture has been practised on the estate for centuries; as early as 1787, four vineyard parcels were described in detail in the Josephinian cadastre. Today the estate is run by Katharina Tinnacher. Approximately 28 hectares of vineyards are located at ideal climatic altitudes of 400 to 500 metres on the best steep slopes in the wine-growing villages of Gamlitz and Kitzeck-Sausal. The vineyards are the focus of Katharina Tinnacher's attention. For many years, traditional and meticulous vinification has been the hallmark of the winery's timeless, elegant line. All the estate's wines are sourced from the estate's own vineyards. The individual sites and vineyards have diff erent soil conditions, and Katharina Tinnacher is keen to show these fine structural differences in the wine. The main variety is Sauvignon Blanc. As of the 2016 vintage, all wines are certified organic.
